Fired For Ridiculous Design

That's what they'd be in my company, fired.

Seriously.

The microwave that came pre-installed in my loft behaves rather curiously.

It won't stop beeping at you until you remove your warmed up morsel from the microwave.

That's right.

This morning I was reading an online article on AT&T's purchase of T-Mobile USA for $39 billion. (Hey, in 1984 they broke up the AT&T monopoly and it's like the terminator in Terminator 3. The little liquid metal puddles always come back together again.)

It was intriguing.

But every 60 seconds the microwave would beep. There's no way to stop it. Unless you go open the microwave door it beeps at you every sixty seconds ad infinitum.

I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt by exploring all the reasoning the designers may have applied. Turns out there is no good reasoning.

If my company designed it I would immediately fire everyone responsible, for attacking our customers with such a stubbornly, and irritatingly inane device.
