Thank You Artists

Most people don't like Andy Warhol's pop art.

Most people don't like Frank Gehry's "strange" modern architecture and sculpture.

Most people don't like Mark Rothko's minimalist art.

But I love their work! And so do millions of people! They crave it so much that lots and lots of people are willing to pay big, big bucks to get little tastes of it. And because these guys did THEIR thing the way THEIR heart said, they are the only ones that do what they do! Their style is unique to themselves. So if people want a piece of their spirit they have to go to them. No one does Rothko but Rothko. No one does Warhol but Warhol, etc. The demand for Warhol is gigantic but the supply is very small because it only comes from one man. So the price goes through the roof.

Thank goodness they didn't just pass up their artistic careers for fear that a lot of people wouldn't like it, or they wouldn't make any money. The world would have missed a whole lot and so they would have as well. They gave and gave and gave, and the flow came right back to them.
